Agenda: Tim Parks in gesprek met Nederlandse lezers

Van 15 juni t/m 15 juli is de Britse schrijver en (Calvino-)vertaler Tim Parks writer-in-residence aan het Spui. Naast zijn eigen literaire werk doet hij aan de universiteit onderzoek naar de ontwikkeling van de (inter)nationale literaire smaak in Europa. In de komende weken gaat hij hierover bij Athenaeum Boekhandel met lezers in gesprek. De laatste gesprekken vinden plaats op vrijdag 8 juli, van 13.00 - 15.00 uur. Wilt u meedoen, dan kunt u zich melden in de boekhandel.

Dear reader,

I'm Tim Parks, an English novelist but also a researcher in an Italian university. We're carrying out a study on the internationalization of literature and I'd like to invite any of you who are interested to talk to me for a few minutes about the foreign novels you read, what you get out of them and how they compare to Dutch novels.

Since I am the current writer in residence at the Spui apartment above the Athenaeum Boekhandel, I would like to use this opportunity for conducting some on-the-spot-research among Dutch literary readers.

Are you interested to share some of thoughts with me? I'll be around in the Athenaeum Boekhandel on Friday June 24th and Monday June 27th and again on Thursday July 7th and Friday July 8th between 13.00 and 15.00. Just ask one of the bookshop staff and they'll put you in touch with me.
