The Prince Claus Fund and the Amsterdam Fund for the Arts announce a special event related to the presentation of the 2010 Prince Claus Awards - the Frontiers of Reality Talk Show.

The Frontiers of Reality Talk Show will address current and controversial issues in a world where perception is dominated by prejudice. The Talk Show will address different and changing realities in Iran, Afghanistan and the Netherlands and will be hosted by Rageh Omaar, journalist and broadcaster for, amongst others, Al Jazeera and the BBC. The Talk Show will take place in the newly opened DeLaMar Theatre near Leidseplein in Amsterdam on 16 December, the day before the presentation of the 2010 Prince Claus Awards. The Frontiers of Reality Talk Show is open to the public, free of charge; registration is however required.

The Talk Show’s participants:

- Maziar Bahari, journalist/filmmaker, journalist for Newsweek, co-editor of the Prince Claus Fund Library publication Transit Tehran: Young Iran and Its Inspirations (UK/Iran)
- Thomas Erdbrink, journalist, the Iran-based Middle East correspondent for the Dutch daily NRC Handelsblad. Also writes for the Washington Post (Iran/The Netherlands)
- Nader Nadery, Member of the Afghan Independent Human Rights Commission, chair of the Free and Fair Elections Agency (FEFA) (Afghanistan)
- Jolyon Leslie, erstwhile-CEO Aga Khan Trust, architect, co-author of Afghanistan: the Mirage of Peace (Afghanistan)
- Russell Shorto, author and director of the John Adams Institute in Amsterdam, writes for the New York Times Magazine (the Netherlands).
- Samira Bouchibti, journalist and former member of parliament for the Dutch Labour Party (PvdA) (the Netherlands)

The Talk Show is part of the International Art Programme of the Prince Claus Fund and the Amsterdam Fund for the Arts. Interesting individuals from around the world come to Amsterdam and address current issues through media, fashion, visual arts, photography, film, music and dance. Both funds previously organized the Gentlemen of Bacongo photo exhibition and a Fashion Battle during the Amsterdam International Fashion Week and brought performances of Cambodian dance and Rwandan drumming ladies to Amsterdam.
