Launch Fireflies #4: Pedro Costa / Ben Rivers
01 november 2016 tot 01 november 2016Tuesday November 1 we launch the new issue from Fireflies in the shop with editors Annabel Brady-Brown and Giovanni Marchini Camia. Helen Westerik will have a Q&A with the editors and we all will have drinks.
This is a collaboration with the Impakt festival. The editors curated a program there focussing on the new issue and directors Pedro Costa and Ben Rivers.

Fireflies is a biannual film magazine published in Berlin.
Each issue assembles an international group of writers, artists and critics to celebrate the work of two extraordinary film directors through personal essays, creative responses, and exclusive interviews with the filmmakers.
Sitting somewhere between an informative career retrospective, a provocative symposium, and an offbeat creative homage, Fireflies passionately expands the possibilities of film criticism. We invite audiences to discover and explore treasures of global cinema through a beautifully designed print object. We also throw launch events, screenings, and talks.
Issue #4 contributors include film critics Leo Goldsmith, Adrian Martin, Max Nelson, Tara Judah and Michael Sicinski; anarchist philosopher John Zerzan; poets Rebecca Foust and Lucas de Lima; fiction writers John Crowley, A.L. Snijders (translated by Lydia Davis), Ellen van Neerven and Alice Robinson; photographers José Pedro Cortes and Marijn Degenaar; visual artists An Gee Chan, John Karborn and Andrej Ujhazy, and original longform interviews with Pedro Costa and Ben Rivers.
