Man Booker International Prize 2016 voor Han Kang

De Man Booker International Prize werd voorheen elk tweede jaar toegekend aan auteurs voor hun oeuvre (Alice Munro (2009), Philip Roth (2011), Lydia Davis (2013 en László Krasznahorkai (2015)), maar is nu samengevoegd met de Independent International Foreign Fiction Prize, die een enkel boek bekroonde. Dat is nu ook de bedoeling van de samengevoegde prijs. Zowel de auteur als de vertaler krijgen prijzengeld, elk de helft. Eerder wonnen Jenny Erpenbeck (2015), Hassan Blasim (2014), Gerbrand Bakker (2013), Aharon Appelfeld (2012), Santiago Roncagliolo (2011) en Philippe Claudel (2010).
