Sebastian Barry, Hisham Matar en Kate Tempest op shortlists Costa Book Awards
23 november 2016Onder anderen Sebastian Barry, Rose Tremain, Francis Spufford, Hisham Matar en Kate Tempest zijn genomineerd voor de Costa Book Awards. Dat werd gisteravond bekendgemaakt.
De Costa Book Awards ('one of the UK's most prestigious and popular literary prizes and recognises some of the most enjoyable books of the year by writers based in the UK and Ireland') kennen een vijftal categorieën - First Novel, Novel, Biography, Poetry and Children's Book - met elk een winnaar, waaruit een jaarwinnaar wordt gekozen. De afgelopen jaren wonnen Frances Hardinge, Helen MacDonald, Nathan Filer en Hilary Mantel de overall-prijs. 3 januari 2017 worden de category-winnaars bekendgemaakt, 31 januari het Costa Book of the Year.
