Vertalingen van Esther Gerritsen, Tom Lanoye en Tommy Wieringa op longlist Dublin Prize

De International Dublin Literary Award is een internationale prijs voor Engelse boeken (verschenen in 2014), en naar het Engels vertaalde romans (oorspronkelijk uitgegeven vanaf 2011, in 2015 in vertaling verschenen), gekozen uit een enorme longlist die door bibliotheken over de hele wereld is samengesteld. Vorige jaren wonnen Akhil Sharma (2016), Jim Crace (2015), Juan Gabriel Vásquez (2014), Kevin Barry (2013), Jon McGregor (2012), Colm McCann (2011). De eventuele vertaler deelt in de prijs. Eerder wonnen Gerbrand Bakker en vertaler David Colmer met Boven is het stil de prijs. Dit jaar maakt Michele Hutchison met twee vertalingen kans.

Op de lijst staan 147 (!) titels, waarvan 23 Brits, 16 uit Australië en Nieuw-Zeeland, 15 Canadees, 42 Amerikaans, 7 Ierse 43 vertaald, 7 Duits, 6 Frans, 6 Spaans en 4 Nederlands. En één Vlaamse dus. Vier van de Nederlandstalige genomineerden werden door (de Nederlandse, uit De Geus voortgekomen) uitgeverij World Editions uitgegeven.
