Hannah Lowe schreef het Costa Book of the Year 2021
03 februari 2022Het Costa Book of the Year 2021 is Hannah Lowes dichtbundel The Kids! De bundel sonnetten over lesgeven en leren, opvoeden en opgroeien won de overall prijs. Dat werd gisteren bekendgemaakt.
De Costa Book Awards ('one of the UK's most prestigious and popular literary prizes and recognises some of the most enjoyable books of the year by writers based in the UK and Ireland') kennen een vijftal categorieën - First Novel, Novel, Biography, Poetry and Children's Book - met elk een winnaar, waaruit een jaarwinnaar wordt gekozen. De afgelopen jaren wonnen Monique Roffey, Jack Fairweather, Bart Van Es (en niet Sally Rooney), Helen Dunmore, Sebastian Barry, Frances Hardinge, Helen MacDonald, Nathan Filer en Hilary Mantel de overall-prijs.
De roman van Nelson is al in het Nederlands vertaald, die van Fuller verschijnt in mei.
