|

Mary Norris, also known as the ‘Comma Queen’, has spent more than three decades guarding The New Yorker's grand traditions of grammar and usage. Now she brings her vast experience, good cheer, and finely sharpened pencils to help the rest of us in a boisterous language book as full of life as it is of practical advice: Between You & Me. October 26th, 5pm at Spui25. Norris will be interviewed by Maarten Westerveen (VPRO).

The New York Times called Morris “a master storyteller”.Between You & Me features Norris's laugh-out-loud exhortations about exclamation marks and emoticons, comma faults and swear words; her memorable exchanges about usage with writers such as Ian Frazier, Pauline Kael, Philip Roth and George Saunders; and her loving meditations on the most important tools of the trade.

A program brought to you in cooperation with the John Adams Institute, celebrating the 50th birthday of Athenaeum bookstore.
